Panhandle Home Health Administrator RetiresLocal Home Health Agency Under New Leadership
[January 21, 2006] Martinsburg, West Virginia – Panhandle Home Health, Inc. (PHH) has provided home health care services to residents of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia for over 30 years. One of their most dedicated employees, Debbie Henry, recently retired after 28 years of service. “When you think of Panhandle Home Health, you think of Debbie,” stated Lisa Bivens, Administrator. “In addition to a great personality, Debbie has the strong work ethic that all employers look for. She was truly dedicated to her work and to our mission.” Ms. Henry is a Registered Professional Nurse with an Associate of Science in Nursing from Shepherd University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University. Her career started at Panhandle Home Health in 1977 as a Staff nurse. She was promoted to Director of Nursing Services in 1979 and Administrator in 1990. Throughout her tenure at Panhandle Home Health, Ms. Henry was active in the West Virginia Council of Home Care Agencies, CASA of the Eastern Panhandle, the United Way of Berkeley and Morgan Counties, the West Virginia Network of Ethics Committee, the West Virginia Palliative Care Network Advisory Committee, West Virginia representative to the Medicare Intermediary Home Health Advisory Group, and the WVU-East City Hospital Ethics Committee, serving as President or on the Board of Directors in many of these organizations. She graduated from the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Berkeley program in 2002. Ms. Henry is also involved in the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of Martinsburg. Recognizing her commitment to excellence, Ms. Henry received the Women of Distinction Award by the Soroptomist International of Martinsburg. She was also awarded the United Way of Berkeley and Morgan Counties 2003 Volunteer of the Year and the 2004 Panhandle Home Health, Inc. Employee of the Year. A retirement party was held for Ms. Henry on January 21, 2006 at Heritage Hall in Inwood, WV. “We wish Debbie the best in her retirement. She will be greatly missed by our staff and the community,” stated Bivens. Panhandle Home Health’s new Administrator, Lisa Bivens, RN, CHPN, has been on staff for 21 years and has served as a Staff Nurse, Home Health Intake Coordinator, and Assistant Director of Clinical Services.
