Panhandle Home Health Hosts Annual Meeting Announces organizational developments and scholarship recipients

Martinsburg, West Virginia - Panhandle Home Health, a local home health care agency, recently hosted their annual meeting at the Purple Iris in Martinsburg. Attendees included Panhandle Home staff, members of their board of directors and professional advisory committee, and scholarship recipients.

During the keynote speech, Administrator Lisa Bivens stated that "Home health care requires the ability to facilitate change." She continued, "Panhandle Home Health has remained flexible, expecting change, and responding accordingly. That is one of the main reasons for our continued success." In response to the nursing shortage in the State of West Virginia, Panhandle Home Health announced that they were awarding three scholarships to local nursing students. Recipients of this years awards were Angela Mason from James Rumsey Technical Institute, Heidi Parker-Crawford from Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, and Holly Snyder from Shepherd University. "This scholarship is going to make a big difference," Snyder stated.

Bivens announced several developments in the organization within the last year, including software upgrades, professional and staff development in coordination with Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, the formation of an internal ethics committee, and the upcoming construction of their new 7,500 square foot facility on Old Mill Road in Martinsburg. "Success is built one block at a time," stated Bivens. "All these blocks are setting us up for a successful 2007." She also shared year end data and community survey results.
