Employees Recognized for Service

Local Home Health Agency Hosts Luncheon

[November 8, 2005] Martinsburg, West Virginia – Panhandle Home Health, Inc. has been providing home health care services to residents of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia for over thirty years.  They recently hosted their annual employee recognition luncheon at the Purple Iris in Martinsburg.

Those recognized for five years of services were:  Angela Gordon, RN, Staff Nurse; Vicki McDonald, Certified Home Health Aide; Paula Eighenbrode, RN, Assistant Clinical Manager; Laura Hunter, RN, Staff Nurse; Janet Fellers, Certified Home Health Aide; and Heather Kisner, Receptionist. 

For ten years of services, the following staff were recognized:  Tammy Lancaster, RN, Staff Nurse; Frances Mason, Physical Therapy Assistant; Cathy Largent, RN, Staff Nurse; Sandy Markley, RN, Staff Nurse, and Melissa Boyer, Certified Home Health Aide.

One employee was recognized with twenty years of service to Panhandle Home Health:  Alice Smith, RN, Staff Nurse.

“Finding and keeping quality employees is difficult in this day and age, especially in this industry,” stated Deborah Henry, Administrator.  “To have this many people who have served residents on behalf of Panhandle Home Health for this many years is a real honor to our organization.”

The Employee of the Year award went to Cindy Weaverling, a Certified Home Health Aide.  “Cindy has a can-do attitude,” stated Henry.  “She has a ready smile and is happy, pleasant, caring, gentle and agreeable, surely brightening her patients' day.  We know this by the many notes of appreciation from patients we have received.”  Weaverling began with Panhandle Home Health in February 1995.  In December 1997, she left to pursue another opportunity, however, returned to Panhandle Home Health in April 1998 and has been there ever since.  “I was very flattered to receive this award,” stated Weaverling.  “It’s easy to be happy at work because I love what I do!”
