Panhandle Home Health Awards Scholarship

Three students honored with annual award

Martinsburg, West Virginia:  Panhandle Home Health, Inc. (PHHI), a home health care agency in the Eastern Panhandle, has awarded scholarships to three area nursing students.  “We had some donors who earmarked their contributions specifically for our nursing scholarship program,” stated Lisa Bivens, RN, Executive Director of PHHI.  “The board decided that we would split those contributions between the three nursing programs in our service area for three deserving students.”

Recipients were:  Michelle Blauch, recent graduate from Blue Ridge Community and Technical College; Mary Davis, a junior from Shepherd University; and Crystal Huddelson, who graduated from James Rumsey Technical Institute in June.  All three recipients were “surprised and honored” to learn that they were chosen by their advisors and instructors to receive the scholarship.  “We are pleased to present Michelle, Mary and Crystal with scholarships that support their nursing education,” stated Bivens.
